MAKEUP KITTY REVIEWS RIMMEL STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Many beauty bloggers and YouTube makeup gurus are raving about this product, so Makeup Kitty decided to give it a try.

From the start, things started to fall apart – literally. When Makeup Kitty removed the plastic wrapper from the powder, she found out that the powder was not attached to its plastic housing (see the picture). Trying to be a good sport, Makeup Kitty decided that it wasn’t the end of the world and could be easily fixed with a little piece of double-stick tape.

Next, Makeup Kitty applied her L’Oreal True Match foundation, followed by light-handed application of transparent Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. She was horrified to discover that the powder adhered to superfine peach-fuzz hairs all around her hairline and in other places. It also made Makeup Kitty’s skin look cakey, unevenly patchy and unpleasantly powdery. Thorough buffing helped somewhat, but the look was still unnatural. After several attempts to fix her makeup, Makeup Kitty washed it all off.

Makeup Kitty believes that this powder is incompatible with her dry skin. It might, however, work if your skin is super oily.

If your skin is very dry, you might want to opt for Maybelline Dream Matte powder instead.
Makeup Kitty’s rating: (1 out of 5)
