Florabotanica Eau De Parfum By BalenciagaThis Eau de Parfum initially struck me as a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. With Kristen Stewart of “Breaking Dawn” as the face of this fragrance, I expected it to be somewhat sharp, spicy, perhaps smoky and shocking. To the contrary, it was very fresh and clean.
The composition of “Florabotanica” consists of mint, carnation, hybrid rose, caladium leaves, amber and vetiver. When freshly applied, this Eau de Parfum had a quite strong, floral scent. Vetiver, hemp, rose (not sweet, but rather green, crisp and fresh) and sweet carnation overpower other notes at first. Drydown is much softer and warmer. It’s a clean, woodsy scent that is quite accurately reflected in the design of the box.
For me, hemp and mint were unpleasantly distracting from other clean, fresh, slightly powdery notes. However, that is just my personal preference and not related to the quality of this fragrance. Therefore I am not deducting any points from my review. I can see this fragrance being adored by many who might like every element of this scent. It is certainly not an old-fashioned floral, nor is it the adolescent, fruity kind. This is a clean scent that is also complex and interesting. This Eau de Parfum would suit a young professional woman, I can imagine it working quite nicely in an office environment. “Florabotanica” has excellent staying power, it lasts on the skin for 8-9 hours and remains on the clothing even longer. Design of the bottle is modern, sleek and beautiful.
