MAKEUP KITTY REVIEWS LANCÔME CRÈME DOUCEUR CREAM-TO-OIL MASSAGE CLEANSER

Lancôme Crème Douceur Cream-To-Oil Massage Cleanser
Lancôme Crème Douceur Cream-To-Oil Massage Cleanser

Lancôme truly redefines luxury with this incredible cream-to-oil cleanser that contains soothing Rose De France and antioxidant White Lotus. I was intrigued with the concept and very pleased with the outcome. This cleanser comes out of the bottle looking like soft whipped cream. As I’d come to expect from Lancôme, it is quite delightfully scented, with subtle hints of fresh rose and sophisticated lotus. When massaged onto dry skin, Crème Douceur does a great job of dissolving makeup. By introducing some warm water, the cream is emulsified and turns into rich, smooth oil. Luxurious feel of this cleanser might inspire you to spend some extra time massaging your skin. Finally, I washed off my face with a soft, wet washcloth. Crème Douceur left my dry, sensitive skin feeling smooth, perfectly clean, gently moisturized and velvety soft. I had the sensation as though my face was lightly veiled in pure silk. I went out to run errands without applying any makeup (oh yes, even Makeup Kitty has no-makeup days), because my skin looked dewy, radiant and even-toned.

Makeup Kitty was blown away by the quality and longevity of this marvelous eyeshadow. This metallic pink color is very wearable and can be applied sheer or built up to look as intense as it looks in the jar. It is easy to apply with a finger or with a cream shadow brush (you can also use a liquid concealer brush). Once the shadow sets, it won’t come off until you want it to. It does not crease or fade for at least 8 to 10 hours. There is simply no downside to this product!

Makeup Kitty loves her red lipsticks. In a never-ending pursuit of scarlet perfection, Makeup Kitty reached for Monsieur Saint Laurent’s Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in 3 Rouge Saadi. The first word that comes to mind with respect to this luxurious object of desire is “luscious.” It glides onto the lips like no other. This lux lipstick is buttery soft and creamy, leaving behind a rich trail of highly saturated color with satin finish. To maintain better control over your application, Makeup Kitty would definitely suggest that you use a brush.

This is not your typical red: it doesn’t have any hints of orange, nor is it a bluish red. It’s elegant without looking overly dramatic or “high maintenance.” This vibrant color will brighten up your complexion and make your teeth look white. Unlike many red lipsticks, it isn’t likely to end up on your teeth. Make no mistake: you need to use a serious longwearing lip pencil to prevent Rouge Saadi from bleeding. We’re deducting one point from the rating because of this lipstick’s undeniable propensity for traveling places where it wasn’t invited. This creamy delight might not be your best choice for a dinner party, but it should hold up quite nicely through some light drinking/snacking.

MAKEUP KITTY REVIEWS ESTÉE LAUDER DAYWEAR CREME

Estee Lauder DayWear Creme
Estee Lauder DayWear Crème

With spring upon us, it’s time to update our winter skincare routine. We can now move away from the heavy, super-moisturizing creams that were taking care of our parched skin all through the winter. Makeup Kitty choose Estée Lauder DayWear Crème, which is her trusty springtime staple. We’re in the mood for something light and refreshing. Estée Lauder DayWear Crème delivers! Makeup Kitty loves its lightweight texture, the fresh cucumber scent, as well as the crème’s amazing anti-oxidants.

This wonderful product won numerous awards as the best moisturizer for dry skin. Makeup Kitty can personally attest that these praises are well-deserved! Our dry skin has been moisturized and refreshed by this marvelous product, time and time again.

DayWear is light, it is very softly and pleasantly scented, the crème absorbs right into the skin and does not leave any greasy residue. It makes the skin wake up, perk up, look smoother and healthier immediately after application. Incredible hydration is light and weightless, it lasts throughout the day. Makeup Kitty loves this wonderful product and will happily continue using it.

MAKEUP KITTY REVIEWS MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS LIP BALM

MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS
Many people rave about Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm. As a major lip balm aficionado, I was certain this would be a nice product. Its packaging is super cute, every one of them I’ve had the occasion to smell were also quite nicely scented (the one pictured here smells like lemon sugar, although not nearly as nice as my beloved Sugar lip balm by Fresh)… but the raving stops right there. As Justin Bieber would sing, “Baby, baby, ooooh,” but in this instance his old familiar tune would end with “Noooooo!” Once you apply this nasty little baby to your lips, in seconds you’ll know what it tastes like to snack on some SPF-heavy tanning lotion. Baby Lips tastes so much like sunscreen, I couldn’t wipe it off my lips fast enough. Maybelline, I usually love your products, but this is definitely not one of them.

KARL LAGERFELD AND HIS KITTY CHOUPETTE

Have you ever noticed that many artists, as well as beauty and fashion trendsetters happen to love cats?

Karl Lagerfeld has a kitty named Choupette, whom he says is “the one.” Choupette has full-time staff to take care of her every need, including two maids, the driver and the doctor who makes house visits, day or night. Choupette doesn’t eat on the floor, she eats her food off the table. Her cat dishes are by Goyard.

CELEBRITY COPYCAT

"Celebrity Copycat" article by Beauty Examiner Julia Davis
“Celebrity Copycat” article by Beauty Examiner Julia Davis

Ever wonder what kind of makeup/beauty products your favorite celebrities are using? Is it a good idea to copycat celebrity makeup looks? You should always strive to be an original. However, it makes perfect sense to find out what professional stylists and makeup artists are using on movie stars, singers and TV personalities. They have access to the best beauty products in the Universe. Chances are, only the cream-of-the-crop selections are being used at the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and the Grammys.

Another important thing to remember: make sure that your chosen style icon has similar skin tone, hair and eye color as you do. That way, their makeup routines and color selections should flatter you as well. Above all, don’t just copy what they do – leave plenty of room for experimentation. Makeup is meant to be fun!
